The claims response service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides immediate global assistance to all of our Members.

Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.

What our colleagues say about working here...

Agapi Terzi
Senior Claims Consultant – Greek office

I joined the Club in December 2019 as a Claims Executive and relocated to the Club’s Greek office, in July 2021 as a Senior Claims Executive to look after all the Greek membership’s claims and assist Dimitris (Batalis) with the establishment and development of the office.

What I like the most in our Club is that the top management is accessible and willing to listen to everybody’s thoughts and is not hesitant to give credit to the members of the teams for their achievements no matter their level.

Oliver Shelmerdine
Underwriter – London office

I joined the Club in an Underwriting Assistant role, in 2013, after completing an Economics BSc at university. In that time I have progressed from Underwriting Assistant to Deputy Underwriter in 2015 and Underwriter, leading the North American portfolio, in 2018.

In addition to my work as an Underwriter, I have been able to assist the Club in forming its Corporate Responsibility strategy after expressing a personal interest in societal and environmental issues. This opportunity has offered me a new challenge and it's great to see my ideas incorporated into Club wide initiatives.

I have continually enjoyed my ten years at the Club due to the friendly, harmonious, cohesive spirit and hope to enjoy many more.

Neville Seet
Underwriting Manager – Singapore office

I joined the Club back in Oct 2012 as an Underwriter and throughout the years I have had the opportunity to handle different aspects of the business and gained insightful experience. I was fortunate to be given the chance to step up when I was promoted to Deputy Underwriting Manager and later as Underwriting Manager in the Singapore branch.

Working for the Club has been a wonderful experience, it has provided me with a great exposure to many aspects of the P&I world, whilst working with great people and within a fantasic culture at the Club.”

Chloe Solomon
Personal Assistant

I joined the Club in 2006 at the of age 18, I worked as a Loss Prevention Assistant for over 5 years before becoming Personal Assistant.

One of the reasons I love working at Shipowners, and why I have stayed for so long, is the people. I have made friends for life and every time I come into the office, I know I will end the day feeling lighter and leave with a smile on my face.

Shipowners has allowed me to have the perfect work-life balance offering me flexibility with my working hours, and always providing me with the support I needed both personally and professionally. I am both proud and grateful to work for such a wonderful company.
