P&I liability insurance for all types of harbour craft
Ports are populated by a profusion of small vessels. Our Members
operate thousands of these vessels, providing a wide range of
essential harbour services in ever more specialised and efficient
ways. The potential for incidents is high within such crowded
environments, so we offer operators both wide-ranging and standard
cover. We can also offer additional insurance covers to reflect the
specific nature of individual operations.
We know the risks which harbour craft operators face every day.
We understand there is a greater incidence of berthing and
un-berthing outside the traditional harbour environment, for
example to an SPM or alongside an FPSO. This may mean many harbour
tugs face wider liabilities than those met by traditional
standardised cover. We are always happy to review towage contracts
with our Members. We also realise that crew employment contracts,
pollution risks, liability to third party personnel and property on
board are vital areas for operators of harbour vessels to consider.
