- Water Levels in the Parana River
9 Nov 2020
As per the linked circulars from Pandi Liquidadores S.R.L. water levels continue to be historically low with no sign of significant improvement.
In these unprecedented circumstances, Members should remember the importance of adequate passage planning, responsible loading and monitoring of under keel clearance.
In the event that an incident should occur, the Club has an experienced claims team who have recently assisted Members in related incidents, including:
- Multiple barge collisions due to lack of available navigable water;
- A multi-barge wreck removal in which water levels were a significant complicating factor; and
- Charterparty disputes arising from delays caused by low river levels.
If further assistance or information is required, please feel free to reach out to your usual Club contact.
