Our cargo vessel Members carry a wide range of cargoes from manufactured steel to fruit and cars to containers. Our Members operate a diverse wide range of cargo vessels, in both size of operation and vessel itself. Our Membership includes operators of feeder containers and general cargo ships, mini bulkers, refrigerated cargo and ro-ro vessels.
This is a sector in which our underwriters are very selective, particularly with regard to vessel quality, classification, regional trade and operating standards. With this in mind, we work alongside and collaborate with Members and their brokers to help keep standards high and claims low by providing best practice advice in risk management, sanctions, legal matters and loss prevention.
The Shipowners’ Club can offer both standard and bespoke insurance for cargo ships. We can provide additional covers to reflect the specific nature of individual operators. Working closely with Members and their brokers, we always strive to provide the best possible insurance protection.
