The claims response service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides immediate global assistance to all of our Members.

Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.

Note to Recruitment Agencies:

To protect the interests of all parties, The Shipowners’ Protection Ltd (SPL) will not accept speculative CV’s from any source other than directly from a candidate. Any unsolicited CV’s received will be treated as the property of SPL and Terms & Conditions associated with the use of such CV’s will be considered null and void. SPL will NOT pay a fee for any placement resulting from the receipt of an unsolicited CV.

On occasions where we may require Recruitment Agency support, we have a Preferred Supplier List that we would go to in the first instance. This is made up of agencies that have a strong understanding of our business. Agencies must obtain advance written approval from the SPL HR function to submit CV’s for specific vacancies, and then only in conjunction with a mutually agreed Terms and Conditions of Services. SPL will not pay a fee to any Agency that does not have such agreement in place.

In addition, we politely ask that you avoid making any approaches to our HR Team or Managers across the business. Please do not send unsolicited CV’s to our vacancies or to SPL employees. SPL is not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited CV’s.
