The claims response service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides immediate global assistance to all of our Members.

Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.


Our Correspondents network extends around the globe to offer assistance and guidance to our Members wherever their trading operations take them.

Correspondents are selected on the basis of their practical knowledge of the shipping regulations and practices in their local ports and their P&I insurance experience. They act as independent advisers on behalf of our Members and are available to provide direct and immediate assistance in the event of an incident or casualty involving a vessel entered with the Club.

We pay for our Correspondents’ services in protecting the interests of our Members in respect of claims covered by the Club.

We recommend that Members request Correspondent assistance as soon as possible after an incident has occurred in order to benefit fully from the service they provide.
