The claims response service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides immediate global assistance to all of our Members.

Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.

Ebola virus disease (EVD) causes an acute and serious illness and is often fatal if left untreated. EVD is having a devastating impact on countries that have recently suffered outbreaks, such as Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

We advise all Members who have vessels trading in the West Africa region to keep up-to-date with the advice published by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Both organisations are expert in this field and are whom the Club is being guided by.

In addition, we recommend that Members keep in contact with our correspondents in the area for the most up-to-date information regarding outbreaks, including any new restrictions or procedures that may be imposed in the local vicinity.

Members should be aware that in addition to the precautions required in known EVB outbreak areas, further restrictions and health checks may be imposed by port authorities of countries Members subsequently visited.

We would invite any Member with further concerns to contact the Club by email: lossprevention@shipownersclub.com.
