Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

The Club regularly deals with claims involving access to vessels. Given their size, the majority of vessels entered with the Club utilise ladders and gangways rather than accommodation ladders which tend to be constructed for larger vessels.

To assist in mitigating such claims, the Club has produced a revised version of its practical booklet detailing correct gangway assembly, access when vessels are double banked and passenger vessel gangway safety as well as several case studies of handled claims.
