We are now seeking a Head of MEDISEA and Business Relations to join us on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and a quick learner with a desire to develop in a friendly and supportive insurance company. Overall responsibility of the Role:
- Management and development of the Medisea scheme in Asia, supporting the growth of the scheme in the existing territories and developing plans for, in collaboration with the relevant internal stakeholders, the potential roll out of the scheme across the Club to other territories and regions.
- Supporting Business Development activities by providing specialist technical operations advisory, support and consultancy.
- To extract additional value from existing relationships promoting and growing the services provided by the Club.
- Promoting and positioning the Club in the Singapore and Regional market and Maritime Community, by harnessing networks, industry contacts, speaking opportunities etc., working always in close co-operation with Underwriters, Claims handlers and branch management.
Role Responsibilities:
Medisea
- Oversee the effective operation of the Medisea programme
- Oversee and ensure the financial benefit of Medisea to the Club including the production of MI reporting as required.
- Work with the IT, Operations and Business Change functions to further develop the Medisea IT platform and the rollout of Medisea App to ensure the operational efficiency of the programme.
- To report to the Chief Executive - Singapore Branch on a monthly/ quarterly basis (as appropriate) on the programme including financials and operational updates.
- Monitoring Member take up and driving the growth of the programme across the Club.
- Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the clinics used under the scheme.
- Liaising with MAMS/Associated parties as required.
- To lead, manage and develop the Medisea team in the day-to-day operation of the Medisea programme.
Industry Relations
- Support business retention and new business development by providing technical advice and guidance on Member operations, where appropriate.
- Working closely with Underwriters, Loss Prevention and Claims Executives to identify ways in which to improve the Club’s service to nurture and solidify relationships.
- To develop strategic content to drive forward the Club’s message.
- To liaise with heads of and managers to ensure that messaging reflects current Club activities.
- Developing and delivering the tailored programmes and solutions, bringing in knowledge and expertise from Loss Prevention and other areas as necessary.
- Making recommendations for tailored programmes and solutions suitable for key accounts.
Other
- Represent the Ckub on industry panels, at seminars and identifying speaking opportunities that will drive awareness of the Club and our activities.
- Develop strong relationships with brokers, Members, Correspondents, other key stakeholders and P&I colleagues inside and outside of the Club.
- Identifying areas/ activities which offer opportunities for Marketing campaigns and content, liaising with the Head of Marketing to implement these.
- To work with the Marketing team to maintain a strong social media presence that promotes the Club and informs stakeholders of the Club's regional activities.
Role Specific Technical Skills and Knowledge/Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the regional maritime sector, including the needs of seafarers and crewing departments.
- Excellent understanding of the Club's aims, objectives, structure etc.
- Detailed working knowledge of the Club's systems and processes and other departments to ensure the ability to sell in and direct work to the right places.
- Expert communication and relationship building skills.
- Experience of leading a small but highly motivated team of individuals.
Prefer candidate with right to work in Singapore.
