Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.

To complement our Infographic: Effective Communications During Pilotage Operations and Communication Management of a Pilotage Operation publications, the Club wishes to draw Members' attention to a poster developed by the International Maritime Pilot’s Association (IMPA) and Marine Accident Investigators’ International Forum (MAIIF), which encourages collaboration and good communication between the pilot and bridge team during pilotage.

This poster, reminds crew and pilots of the importance of sharing information, respecting one another, communicating throughout the voyage, working together as a team and staying alert. All of these factors combine to achieve the desired outcome of a successful pilotage operation.
