- Evolving operational and security risks
Due to the rapidly evolving security situation in the Red Sea area, the Club would like to provide Members with current advice and support.
The Club’s valued correspondent partners are available 24/7 to provide advice on operations and current threats applicable to current areas of operation/transit.
In addition, we would also recommend that Members refer to:
- IMO Updates (Conflict-related attacks in the Red Sea area - general information.),
- BMP 5 (BMP 5 – Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea | International Chamber of Shipping (ics-shipping.org)),
- BMP West Africa (BMP West Africa: Best Management Practices to Deter Piracy and Enhance Maritime Security off the Coast of West Africa including the Gulf of Guinea | International Chamber of Shipping (ics-shipping.org)),
- The latest piracy maps/reports on IMP Piracy & Armed Robbery Map 2024,
- The Club's Piracy page.
Members are strongly recommended to participate in the UKMTO reporting scheme when operating/transiting the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, and Arabian Sea and the MDAT-GoG reporting scheme when operating/transiting off West Africa. Any instructions/recommendations received from Naval forces operating in the area as part of efforts to maintain freedom of navigation should be closely followed.
