Liability insurance for owners and operators of maritime autonomous vessels

Our specialist policy was developed to meet the liability insurance needs of owners and operators of autonomous and remotely operated vessels. Cover is provided on a plain language policy wording, underwritten on an ‘all risks’ basis, to provide a very comprehensive level of cover.

Our policy was created following consultation with owners, operators and manufacturers of autonomous vessels to ensure we fully understand the needs of this specialist sector. This policy can be provided for many types of autonomous vessels including offshore survey and support craft, tugs, passenger vessels, workboats, inland craft and cargo carrying vessels.

Our policy provides cover for many different liability risks associated with operating autonomous vessels including collision, damage to third party property, cargo, contracts, injury to crew or other people, pollution, towage, cyber related claims, and removal of wreck. We can also provide Legal Costs Cover.
