- Crew Health: Multilingual questions for medical assessments
Since June 2016, the Club’s crew health campaign has reported on various health issues that affect those serving on board vessels and has provided guidance to assist Members in mitigating against related incidents. The articles, posters and booklets published have garnered a great deal of interest from both Members and industry partners. Despite this being the last in our series of publications in partnership with the International Seafarers’ Welfare Assistance Network, the Club will continue its commitment to providing proactive and up to date articles on areas of risk and concern for crew health.
Our final publication in the series has been produced to assist those working on board with the assessment and treatment of seafarers and supports them in obtaining medical help when required. The multilingual guide is a practical tool which enables crew to quickly and easily translate medical questions from English into Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Thai. Medical areas covered include cardiac events, injuries to different parts of the body, and pain relating to specific conditions.
