Seafarers are responsible for transporting more than 80% of global trade, yet they remain among the world's most vulnerable and exploited workers.
Modern slavery continues to occur across the maritime sector, including on board cargo vessels, in the ports they visit, and throughout the crewing supply chains on which ship owners, operators, and other maritime businesses depend.
The Club has produced the following guidance booklet which provides examples of what modern slavery looks like at sea, outlines the legal framework and obligations, and explains the practical measures Members should take to identify and address these risks.
