- Philip Orme to step down as Club Chairman
24 May 2022 – At their Board meeting on the 19 May 2022, the Club’s Chairman, Philip Orme, announced his decision to step down as Chairman.
Mr Orme spent an unprecedented period of eight years as Chairman, which has included leading the Club through challenging times, not least the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon stepping down he thanked his fellow Board members for their support during his period leading the Club and now looks forward to continuing to serve the Club as a Board Director, maintaining his involvement on various committees ensuring that the Club continues to place its ship owning membership at the heart of all that it delivers and especially the welfare of its seafarers.
At the same time, it was announced that Donald A. MacLeod will assume the role of Club Chairman. Mr MacLeod has been on the Club’s Board for many years currently holding the role of Chairman of the Finance Committee and very much looks forward to leading the Club over the coming years, striving to maintain the Club’s commitment to providing the highest levels of service, financial security and strength to its Members and the broking community that supports the Club so well.
