- The Shipowners' Club co-opts Peter Sydenham and Jan Vermeij to its Board of Directors
LONDON, 7 SEPTEMBER 2020 – The Shipowners’ Club, the leading P&I insurer in the smaller and specialist vessel sector, is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Sydenham and Jan Vermeij to its Board of Directors.
The co-option was agreed at the Club’s Board meeting on the 4 September, with effect from the November 2020 meeting.
Peter Sydenham brings with him over 40 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, having recently held the post of Managing Director and Leader of Special Lines at International Reinsurer, Swiss Re. Jan Vermeij is Chief Operating Officer at Ultranav and is also the Executive Director of Ultratug, Chile.
Commenting on the appointments the Club’s Chairman, Phil Orme, stated: “I am delighted at the breadth of skills that both Peter and Jan bring to the Club which will undoubtably be of significant benefit to its mutual Membership. The Board and Club management look forward to working with Peter and Jan to deliver the Club’s strategic objectives for the future.”
