Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

We are now seeking an Operations Analyst to join us on a permanent basis.   This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Insurance operations/support experience who is interested in process improvement, systems and automation to play a key role in supporting the Club’s evolving operating model and is looking for their next step in a friendly and supportive team.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with Underwriting, Finance, IT and external partners to support efficient operational delivery, maintain high standards of data quality and drive improvements in workflow and digital processes. This role offers a great opportunity to grow within the Operations team, build strong relationships with Brokers and Cover holders, and travel within the EU to support those partnerships.

 

We also have a hybrid working model (minimum 2 days in the office - after probation).

Overall responsibility of the role:

The Operations Analyst will provide operational and administrative support across the Club’s P&I, Hull & Machinery and delegated authority portfolios. The role supports portal-first servicing, process efficiency and data integrity while contributing to the continued development of a scalable, digitally enabled and automation-led Operations function.

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Proactively support delivery of the Club’s operating model by promoting portal-first servicing and consistent operational processes
  • Assist with the rollout and ongoing support of P&I Online across the broker network
  • Manage broker onboarding, account creation and ongoing maintenance within P&I Online
  • Manage mid-term adjustments, documentation issuance, trading certificates and quote/bind exceptions across portfolios
  • Manage portal queries and operational exceptions, triaging issues to Underwriting, IT or third-party partners where required
  • Support configuration and maintenance within our policy administration system and related operational systems
  • Process and validate bordereaux (BDX) transactions and support delegated authority administration
  • Own and manage reconciliation activities across delegated authority portfolios, investigating and resolving variances in collaboration with Finance and external partners
  • Maintain accurate Member, vessel and broker data across systems to support automation and efficient processing and carry out regular cleansing and correction of data issues
  • Monitor portal usage and support reporting that tracks adoption of the Club’s operating model
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through workflow optimisation, automation or system enhancements
  • Support operational change initiatives, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system testing cycles
  • Provide system guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders where required

 

Experience required:

  • Relevant experience in an operational role within the insurance sector
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues and propose improvements
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Interest in operational efficiency, systems and process improvement

 

Desirable:

  • Experience with broking or insurance platforms
  • Exposure to P&I, Marine or Hull & Machinery insurance
  • Experience working with delegated authority or bordereaux processing
  • Familiarity with workflow or automation tools (e.g. Power Automate)
  • Project exposure and familiarity with Agile methodologies
