Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.

Communication is key - speak up and question decisions 

As a Club we have been made aware of a number of recent FFO and collision incidents that have occurred whilst under pilotage. On investigation it is apparent that the primary cause, in most cases, can be attributable to a breakdown of communication.

This poster has been developed to highlight the demands placed on the key groups involved with a berthing pilotage and underlines the communication channels that should be in place to ensure an efficient and safe operation.
